Apple Valley Chapel

Linda Jane (Johnson) Braatz entered her heavenly home on March 14, 2025. She was born on August 16, 1950, in Litchfield, MN, the middle daughter of Ben and Loretta Johnson.

Lin spent her childhood on the farm in Litchfield. She married her childhood sweetheart, Larry Braatz in 1969. She worked as a bank teller for many years and, before retiring, she worked as an office manager of an accounting firm.

While dedicated to her job, her real passion was music. She planned and participated in worship services by playing the piano and singing from a young age. Music was her way of ministering to those around her and communing with God. She had a God-given talent and delighted in sharing it with others. Some of her favorite times were singing along with her children and grandchildren gathered around the piano. She inspired a love of music in her family and supported them in all their interests and endeavors.

She loved to serve others with her time and talent in the kitchen. Krispie bars and chocolate cake were a guaranteed staple to enjoy. She never met a cookbook she didn’t want to read and enjoyed finding new recipes to test out on her family. Whether it was a pancake breakfast, summer grilling, or a holiday feast, you never left her house hungry.

She came to faith in Christ at a young age. She demonstrated God’s love by putting the comfort and needs of others above her own. She was a prayer warrior who consistently lifted up the concerns of her family and friends to the Lord.

Preceded in death by her parents, siblings John, Timothy, and Mary Ann, and her beloved husband Larry.

Survived by her 3 children Michael (Christina) Braatz, Heidi (Tadjen) Peterson, Brady (Kreisa) Braatz, and 8 grandchildren, Madalyn, Wyatt, Alaina (Stuart), Lindsey, Darby, Anna, Simon, and Norah. She is also survived by her brothers James (Pat) Johnson, Harold (Doris) Johnson, Wes (Vicki) Johnson, and Bruce (Robin) Johnson.
