Lester R. Allgor

Lester R. Allgor, age 86 of Hastings passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at his home. Lester was born March 24, 1929 in Butte, NE to David and Ruth (Atkinson) Allgor. He was a graduate of Hastings High School, class of 1947 and attended Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis. Lester served in the US Army in Germany during the Korean period. He was employed with 3M for 25 years and retired as an electrical supervisor. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Jacqueline (Weber); second wife Helen (Welch) Redding; sisters Myrna Leininger and Thelma Allgor. Les is survived by his children, Ronald Allgor of Hastings and Julie (Greg) Schoen of Princeton, MN; grandchildren Krista and Rachel Allgor, Jonathan (Ashley) Schoen, Laura (Jeremy) Liila, Sara (Tyler) Roehl and Joseph Schoen; also five great grandchildren; sisters Mary Kramer and Laura (Don) Berglund; five step children, extended families and many close friends. The Memorial Service will be held 11 AM Friday, January 29, 2016 at Our Saviours Ev. Lutheran Church, 400 West Ninth St. in Hastings, officiated by Rev. Doug Duin. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at church. Interment will follow in Lakeside Cemetery, Hastings. Memorials are preferred to Our Saviours Ev. Lutheran Church or donors choice.
