LeRoy F. Carl, age 79 of Hastings died Friday, October 18, 2013 surrounded by family. LeRoy was born October 16, 1934 in Hastings to Elmer and Catherine (Kirpach) Carl. He attended Hastings schools and served in the US Air Force. LeRoy had worked as a foreman at Smead Manufacturing prior to retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Lois Carl and brother Richard Carl. LeRoy is survived by his significant other, Sandy Davis; five children Jean (Richard) Schluessler, LeRoy (Robin Garloff) Carl and Brenda (Kevin Tix) Carl, all of Hastings, Cathy (Ted) Goude of Davenport, IA and Sandy (Michael) Greten of Hastings; 12 grandchildren and8 great grandchildren; brothers Donald Carl and Kenneth (Pat) Carl, both of Hastings; also many nieces, nephews and friends. A Graveside Service, officiated by Fr. Scott Carl will be held 11 AM Monday, October 21, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Cemetery, Hastings with Military Honors provided by the Hastings VFW Lyle Russell Post #1210. Honorary pallbearerswill behis 12 grandchildren.
