Leonard G. Tri, age 70, of Hastings died Saturday, November 7, 2009 at his home following a lengthy illness. Leonard was born December 18, 1938 at Red Wing, MN to George and Mildred (Jackson) Tri. He was a graduate of Monroe High School in St. Paul in 1956. Leonard entered the U.S. Navy in October of 1958. Following his discharge he returned to work at 3M Company in production. He retired in 1999. He was married to Mary Reis on November 24, 1962 at St. Michael�s Church in West St. Paul. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, was active on men�s softball teams, and loved gardening, woodworking and bingo. He greatly enjoyed his grandchildren. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Ron and Bill Tri. He is survived by his wife Mary, daughters Beverly (Robert) Waller of Prescott, Patricia (Daniel) Kimmes of Hastings, Carol (Ronald) Stoudt of Hastings, Karen Welch of Hastings and Pamela Kapsner of Farmington; grandchildren Matthew, Tara, Ashley, Ryann, Michael, Gary, Elizabeth, Jacob Cheyanne; great grandson Trent; siblings Gerald (Dolores) Tri of Woodbury, Howard (Dorothy) Tri of Florida, Delores (Skip) Wesolowski of Hastings, Georgeanne Johnson of Eagan, Gloria Tri of Minneapolis, Doreen (Paul) Karrlson of Rush City, Raymond (Carol) Tri of Eden Valley, George (Diane) Tri of Sandstone. A visitation will be held Tuesday, November 10, 2009 from 4-8 pm at the Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 East Seventh St., Hastings and also one hour prior to the funeral at church on Wednesday. The Funeral Mass, officiated by Fr. Jim Perkl will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. Fifteenth Street, Hastings. A private interment with military honors will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Pallbearers are his grandchildren. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
