Leonard C. Carlson
Age 92 of Minneapolis, born July 2, 1922 in Minneapolis to John & Elsa Carlson, passed away July 17, 2014. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII at Normandy and The Battle of the Bulge. He was a 1940 graduate of Central High School and received his AA Degree at Dunwoody Institute in Mechanical Engineering Drafting in 1942. Leonard and his wife Loraine were longtime members of the American Swedish Institute. He is preceded in death by his wife, Loraine and son, Bruce. Leonard will be dearly missed by his children: Linda (Bill) Taylor, Robert (Pam Huber) and Brian (Carrie); grandchildren: David, Taylor and Diane (David) Bauer; great-grandchildren, Claire and Kimberly; special friend, Susan Roverud and many other family and friends. Funeral service, 11:00 am, Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5728 Cedar Ave. So., Mpls., with visitation one hour before. Leonard will be laid to rest with his wife, Loraine, at Pleasant View Memorial Park, Burnsville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church.
