Leo W. Otto, age 81, of Hastings died Saturday, November 5, 2011 at United Hospital in St. Paul after a brief illness. Leo was born April 11, 1930 near New Trier to Nicholas and Elizabeth (Hubert) Otto. He attended the St. Mary�s School. He married Mary Ann Freiermuth on November 17, 1954 at St. Mary�s Church in New Trier. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean War. Leo was a retired construction superintendant. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Marie Lorentz, and 6 brothers Richard, Harold, John, Ray, William George Otto. He is survived by his wife Mary Ann, 6 children Sharon (David) Lawrence, Charlene Otto, Dennis (Patti) Otto, Pam Tomme, Thomas (Mary) Otto and Lisa Otto all of Hastings; grandchildren Alyson Van Dyk (Dan), Josh Tomme, Justin, Courtney and Abbey Lawrence, Brandon, Ryan, Danica, Kayden, Noah, Jake, Leo, Alex and Alivia Otto; also a great grandcild Owen Van Dyk; siblings Nick �Tubby� (Bernice) Otto of New Trier, Elizabeth �Betty� Rother of Hastings, James (Donna) Otto of New Trier and Joseph (Karen) Otto of Bullhead City, AZ. The visitation will be held from 4-8 PM Monday, November 7, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035Fifteenth Street West, Hastings, MN and also on Tuesday 1 hour prior to the funeral. The Funeral Mass, officiated by Fr. Jim Perkl will be Tuesday at 10:30 AM. Interment with military honors will be provided by the Hastings VFW Lyle Russell Post 1210 at St. Mary�s Cemetery in New Trier.
