Leo J. Leifeld

Leo J. Leifeld, age 84, of Hastings, died Wednesday,June 4, 2008 at the Fairview Red Wing Health Care Campus. Leo was born June 11, 1923 in Vermillion to Louis and Catherine (Fox) Leifeld. He married Helen Kaiser October 18, 1952 at St. Joseph�s Catholic Church in Red Wing. They moved to the Miesville area in 1953, and Leo farmed his entire life. He was preceded by his parents, infant daughter, and brother, Joseph. Leo is survived by his wife Helen; children Eugene (Bonnie) of Zumbrota, David (Pat) of East Bethel, Virginia (Doug) Palmer of Coon Rapids, Donald (Rebecca) of Vermillion, Michael of Hastings, Rita (Loren) Laturnus of Cottage Grove, Patricia (Thomas) Niedzielski and Mary (Thomas) Siebenaler of Lakeville, James of Hastings; 17 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, Blake Michael Niedzielski; sisters Katherine Ginther, Theresa King, Dorothy Becker; and sister-in-law LuellaLeifeld all of Hastings. The Funeral Servicefor Leo will be held at 10:30am Saturday, June 7, 2008 at the ST. JOSEPH�S CATHOLIC CHURCH inMIESVILLE. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. The visitation will be held AT THECHURCH from 4-8pm Friday and 1 hour prior to the Saturday service. The pallbearers are Eugene, David, Donald, Michael, and James Leifeld and Thomas Niedzielski.
