Hulslander, Lee W.
age 85, of Apple Valley, passed away after a brief illness on March 9, 2014. He is preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite “Margy”; 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Lee is survived by his children, Rachel Anne Kass, Nora Jean (Daniel) Anderson and William Hulslander; 3 grandchildren, Kelli Joan Ray, Marie (Joshua) Hulslander-Mahlow and Dean Lee Anderson; and 7 great-grandchildren. Lee worked for Sperry-Rand for over 30 years working for the DOD on navigation programming for defense contracts and also worked navigation systems which helped America land on the moon and return home safely. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army as a paratrooper stationed in Japan. Lee loved writing music, and he wrote several pieces of music, he was a member of the St. Peter Drum and Bugle Corps, was an advocate for women’s rights and civil rights, and was very creative helping his grandchildren with science projects and fighting his nemesis – the squirrels. “Bapa” loved his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lee’s memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 15 at 12:00 Noon, Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 147th & Garrett Ave., Apple Valley, with a gathering of family and friends starting at 11 AM. Inurnment Lebanon Cemetery.
