Lee F. Farrell

Lee F. Farrell, age 75 of Hastings, died peacefully on Sunday, January 22, 2017, at United Hospital in St. Paul. Lee Francis, the adopted son of Cedric and Mary (Ryan) Farrell, was born on June 29, 1941, in Goodhue, Minnesota. As a young man, Lee enjoyed helping on his family farm as well as other farmers too. He attended school in both Zumbrota and Goodhue prior to enlisting in the United States Marine Corps and in 1962, was united in marriage to Rae Jacobson in Goodhue. They lived for a short time in Zumbrota prior to making their home on a farm south of Hastings. Lee then began his ceramic tiling company, "Lees Ceramics" and continued to operate it for fifty years. His art with tile was well-known inthe Hastings and surrounding areas. Lee enjoyed running his business and spending time on his farm. People that knew Lee knew his stern look was only a front for a very caring person. He will truly be missed by all of his business associates. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister, Charlotte Thelen. Lee is survived by his wife, Rae of Hastings; his son, Shawn of Hastings; and by other relatives and friends. In keeping with Lees wishes, there will not be a public service. Rather, his family would appreciate your good thoughts and memories of Lee over the years.
