Lawrence Nickolas Teuber

Lawrence N. Teuber, age 90, of Hastings, passed away peacefully at his home on September 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving daughters.

Lawrence was born on March 13, 1935, in Douglas Township, Minnesota, to Vincent and Catherine (Siebenaler) Teuber. One of thirteen children, he grew up on the family farm, where he learned to work hard and help others. From doing chores for neighbors to finishing jobs no matter how long they took, that work ethic stayed with him his whole life. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic School through the 8th grade, often walking or carpooling with neighboring families.

In 1958, Lawrence married the love of his life, Lois Partington, after the two met at a local dance hall. They spent 66 years together, raising six children in Hastings. Their first home was one they built themselves before settling at the farmhouse where Lawrence was born.

Lawrence devoted his career to farming, taking great pride in caring for his land, cows, pigs, and chickens. He also worked for many years at H.D. Hudson Manufacturing as a maintenance worker. Known as a hard worker who never shied away from a task, Lawrence enjoyed splitting wood, running his chainsaw, and spending time outdoors. He loved playing board games and cards with his children, fishing with them, and being present in their lives.

He will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather who cherished his family above all else.

Lawrence is survived by his children, Betty (Nestor Riano) Rutledge, Diane (Rick Stern) Williams, Brenda (Bob) Jones, and Joanne (Jason) Stengel; 13 grandchildren: Steve, Jennifer, Scott (Sabine), Justin, Ian, Jessica (Mathias), Sara (Dave), Alex, Olivia, Josh, Nicole (Kenny), Brian (Christianne), and Mike; 17 great-grandchildren: Angel (Jonah), Hunter (Sally), Finley, Brooks, Elena, Ava, Mason, Deacon, Makenna, Korrin, Penelope, Summer, Lalayna, Lola, Hattie, Emmit, and Frank; great-great-grandchildren, Cecelia and Louise; siblings, Vincent (Mary) Teuber, Herman (Joan) Teuber, Al (Donna) Teuber, Fran (Laura) Teuber, Vic (Mary Ann) Teuber, Mary Lou (Larry) Lee, and Linda Mistysyn; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lois; parents, Vincent and Catherine; sons, Darold and Eugene; siblings, Charles, Rita, Margaret, Sister Vincent, and Theresa (Teuber) Downey; sister-in-law, Arlene; and brothers-in-law, Jim Mistysyn, Jim Downey, and Bill Murphy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 29, 2025, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 8433 239th St. E, New Trier, MN 55031, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, with a reception at the church.
