Lawrence "Larry" Werner Jr.

Lawrence "Larry" Werner Jr., age 66 of Prescott, Wisconsin, died peacefully on Monday afternoon, December 4, 2017, at United Hospital in St. Paul, following a recent diagnosis of cancer. Lawrence Jr., the son of Lawrence Sr. and Lorraine (Freiermuth) Werner, was born on April 25, 1951, in Hastings, Minnesota. Following his education at Red Wing High School, Larry began his career in construction. He first started at Graus Construction, and for the last twenty years has been working at Mesabi Control in St. Paul. Larry loved shooting pool, playing darts, fishing, traveling, sports, and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Judy in 2013. Larry is survived by his daughter, Josie Larson; his grandchildren, Mason Steiner and Drake Nelson; his parents, Larry Sr. and Lorraine Werner; his siblings, Darlene (Duane) Lampman, Pat (Bob) Huneke, Joe (Linda) Werner, Cindy Freiermuth, George Werner, Roy (Barb) Werner, Mary (Jeff) Kahl, and Greg (Victoria) Werner; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. A Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Philanders Grill Bar in Prescott, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, Larrys family requests you make a donation to Toys for Tots in his memory. Arrangements are being completed by Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services of Hastings.
