Laverne H. Marschall

Laverne H. Marschall, age 93, of Vermillion, died Saturday, April 16, 2016. LaVerne was born January 2, 1923 in Hastings, to Charles and Anna (Stoffel) Marschall. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps who served during World War II. LaVerne married Gloria Streefland November 22, 1947 in Savage, MN. He worked for 43 years as a truck driver for Fuel Economy Engineering. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. LaVerne was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Gloria, brothers, Charles and Jim and 1 sister, Betty. LaVerne is survived by his children, LaVerne Jr. (Mary) of Farmington, Stephen of Northfield and Julie Olson of Hastings; 6 grandchildren, Matthew, Angie, Jeff, Scott, Toni Marschall and James Olson. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, April 21, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Vermillion, MN, officiated by Fr. Cole Kracke. A visitation will be held at the church 1 hour prior to the funeral. Interment with Military Honors provided by the Hastings VFW Lyle Russell Post #1210 will follow in the parish cemetery.
