Laurence E. Wolford Wolford, Laurence E., 69, of Hastings, MN, passed away at home April 16. Larry was born in Crosby, MN, and graduated from Crosby-Ironton High School. He proudly served as an electricians mate aboard the U.S. Navys USS Oriskany aircraft carrier during the Vietnam War, earning the National Defense Service Medal. He helped construct the Prairie Island Nuclear Power Plant in Red Wing, MN., working as an electrician and nuclear planner for 30+ years. Larry attended St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. He enjoyed volunteering at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Hastings, woodworking, being outdoors and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by former wife, Nilda Wolford; children Nena (Michael) Peterson; Rodney Wolford, and Trish (Rob Paulno) Wolford; brothers Earl (Cecilia) Wolford and Tim Wolford; sisters Terri (Jim) Tysk and Marie (Danny) Fletcher; grandchildren Kiya, Dominic, Cassidy, Isabella and Cash; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents Earl and Teresa Wolford. Funeral services will be held 7:00 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2018, at Caturia, Smidt Starkson Funeral Home Crematory in Hastings. Visitation will be held 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2018, at the funeral home.Interment with Military Honorson Monday, April 30, 2018 at 10:45 a.m.at Fort Snelling National Cemetery,7601 34thAve. S. in Mpls. The Minnesota Veterans Home in Hastings, MN will host a memorial later this spring.Arrangements are being completed by Caturia, Smidt Starkson Funeral Home Crematory of Hastings.
