Laura Dawn Krugen

Laura Krugen, age 61, of Hastings, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025, in her home.

Laura was born on November 14, 1963, and grew up in the Brainerd Lakes area, where she attended Brainerd High School. She was a beloved mother and grandmother who cherished time spent with her family and friends. Her children and grandchildren will especially miss her joyful “happy birthday” singing voice and the heartfelt birthday letters she sent each year.

Laura is survived by her three children, Bobbi Jo (Matthew) Bourassa of Isle, Minnesota; Cory Young of Midland, Texas; and Mitchell (Katie) Young of Monticello, Minnesota; seven grandchildren, Kenzie (Tony) Kierstead of Aitkin, Minnesota, Hailey Bourassa of Staples, Minnesota, Kaylyn, Mylee, and Mason Bourassa of Isle, Minnesota, and Lucas and Lena Young of Monticello, Minnesota; her mother, Judy Krugen; her brother, David (Darlene) Krugen; nieces, nephews, and many other lifelong friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Krugen, and her beloved dog, Scooter.

In true Laura fashion, there will be a Celebration of Life at her favorite local watering hole, Duggies (Dugarel’s) in Hastings, Minnesota, on Thursday, October 16, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to come together to share stories, laughter, and memories of Laura’s vibrant spirit.
