Kreed Isaiah Wylie entered this world on February 15, 2025, and after 39 days filled with strength, love, and hope, he passed away peacefully on March 26, 2025, at M Health Fairview University Hospital. Born at 24 weeks, Kreed showed incredible determination from his very first breath, becoming a source of inspiration for everyone who knew his story.
From the beginning, Kreed was a fighter. His name was lovingly created by rearranging the letters of his father Derek’s name, and when Amanda and Derek discovered that “Kreed” also means “I believe,” it felt like fate. It was a name that captured his courage, determination, and the faith they held for their son. With a subtle nod to a boxing film of a similar name, it was a fitting tribute to a little boy who never stopped fighting.
His middle name, Isaiah, means “God Saves,” and was chosen not only for its meaning but also in honor of Amanda’s brother. As Amanda shared, her brother and Derek are the two strongest men she has ever known. Kreed’s life, though short, was filled with love, strength, and a sense of purpose that left an everlasting mark on those who knew him.
Amanda and Derek want to express their deepest gratitude to everyone who walked with them through this journey. The kindness, support, and love they received helped them through their most difficult days. In the midst of pain, they found comfort in community, closeness in family, and joy in the precious time they had with their son.
To Kreed: You were deeply loved from the moment we knew you were coming. Thank you for the gift of your life. You are forever part of us, and we will carry you in our hearts every day. You were small but mighty, and your light will never fade.
Kreed is survived by his devoted parents, Amanda Rowan and Derek Wylie; grandparents, Dan Wylie, Sandy Rowan, and Rochelle and Guy Matz; along with many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George Taylor, and Dennis and Vickie Wylie.
A service to celebrate Kreed’s life will be held at a later date.
