Korrinne Berens, age 63 of Hastings, died peacefully at home on Monday morning, July 24, 2017, following an extended illness. Korrinne Ren, the daughter of Lawrence and Gertrude "Frankie" (Frank) Fick, was born on May 6, 1954, in Revere, Minnesota. Korrinne attended Revere/Walnut Grove High School and graduated with the class of 1972. Following her education, she briefly continued in graphic design and art to help follow her dream. On July 1, 1978, Korrinne was united in marriage to Anthony "Tony" Berens in Revere. They moved to Hastings and together owned and operated Berens Jewelry and Tenacious Ks local artist gallery, both in downtown Hastings. For a short while, she also worked as a Legal Secretary for Dakota County. Korrinne loved many animals, especially her cats. She also enjoyed feeding the many birds, ducks, and squirrels over the years. Korrinnes knowledge of trivia made her one of the best when playing with friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Korrinne is survived by her husband, Tony of Hastings; her siblings, Larry (Cindy) Fick and Denise (Jeff) Skjeveland; her many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and by many other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Korrinnes Life will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2017, at The Onion Grille in Hastings. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Animal Ark in Hastings in memory of Korrinne. Arrangements are being completed by Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services of Hastings.
