Kimberly Ann Olson, age 64 of Makinen, Minnesota and formerly of Hastings, died peacefully on Tuesday, November 30, 2021. Kimberly Ann, the daughter of Victor and Nancy (Hill) Olson, was born on July 17, 1957, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Following her graduation from Fridley High School, Kim continued her education at the University of Minnesota on a swimming scholarship where she obtained her Master's Degree in Physical Education. On March 22, 1991, Kim was united in marriage to Marlon Dynesius. Kim was a pivotal part of and a longtime director and swim coach for Hastings Area Swim Team. She enjoyed staying fit by cross country skiing, biking, roller blading, and doing anything she could in the water. There wasn't a day that went by that Kim didn't dream about swimming or coaching, it truly was a passion that she was part of for sixty-seven seasons. With her accomplishments, Kim was inducted into the Minnesota Swimming Hall of Fame in 2013 and also into the Fridley High School Hall Athletic of Fame in 2019. After recently moving up north, Kim enjoyed spending time with Marlon fishing, boating, and simply living life. She also enjoyed quilting, reading, and sewing in her free time. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Melissa Dawn Dynesius; and by her father, Victor Olson. Kim is survived by her husband, Marlon Dynesius; mother, Nancy Olson; siblings, Susan, Jim (Kathy) and Mike (Stephanie); nieces, nephews, numerous friends and other family members. A Celebration of Kim's Life will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, December 5, 2021, at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel in Hastings. In lieu of flowers, Kim's family kindly requests memorials be made to Hastings Area Swim Team to continue her legacy within the program. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
