Kevin Paul Herkenratt, age 73 of Blaine passed away unexpectedly on December 1, 2025.
Kevin was the youngest of four children born on October 9, 1952 in Red Wing, Minnesota to Joseph “Lonce” and Catherine (Majeski) Herkenratt. He grew up in Hastings and attended St. Bonafice Catholic School through 8th grade. Beginning with the 9th grade he attended Hastings Public Schools, graduating in 1970 from Hastings High School.
In 1980 he relocated to Blaine, and worked for several companies, retiring from Medtronic in 2014.
Kevin enjoyed doing projects around his home, taking day trips throughout Minnesota, finding great Happy Hours, and spending time up north at his camper. He really loved Friday Fish Fries, Coors Light, and most of all Elvis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Joan Jacobson; brother, Jim Herkenratt; and nephew, Steve Holmgren.
Kevin is survived by his wife of 45 years, Beverly (Jacobson) Herkenratt; his son, Joseph (Tiffany) Herkenratt; sister, Jean (Zach) Taran; sister-in-law, Sandra (Jim) Herkenratt; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel, 3075 Vermillion Street, Hastings.
A Celebration of Life for Kevin will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025 at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings with a visitation one hour prior.
Because Kevin was a huge animal lover, in lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Animal Humane Society and Heartland Animal Rescue Team (Brainerd) - places where he adopted all his rescues from.
