Kenneth Flom

Kenneth H. Flom, age 85, of Hastings passed away at Augustana Health Care Center in Hastings on Dec. 10, 2011. Kenneth was born in Leesburg, FL on Aug. 17, 1926 to Harold and Mabel Flom. He grew up in Lansford, ND, and graduated from Lansford high school. As a member of the US Army, he served in the Philippines during WWII. He married Ethel Clark on August 10, 1947 in Mohall, ND. Kenneth has been an avid ham radio operator since 1949; his call letters are W0ACN. He was a man who could fix or create anything, a regular Mr. Wizard. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Everett. Kenneth is survived by his loving wife, Ethel; children, Linda (Bill) Merkling of Rogers, AR; Loren (Doris) Flom of Hastings; Jerry (Diane) Flom of Hastings; Gail (Jeff) Kummet of Sauk Rapids; and Nancy (Dave ) Reinardy of Hastings; 18 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; nephews, Eric; Terry and Kirk Flom; other relatives and friends.A funeral service will be held on Friday (12/16), at 11:00 a.m. at Our Saviour's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 400 W. 9th St., Hastings. A visitation will be held at the Wise Family Funeral Home, 400 Spring St., Hastings on Thursday (12/15) from 4:00-7:00 p.m. and 1 hour prior to service on Friday at church. The Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery, Hastings. Military Honors provided by the VFW Lyle Russell Post #1210 Memorial Rifle Squad. Memorials preferred.
