age 89 of Minneapolis, born Jan. 1, 1922 in St. Paul to William & Ellen Dunkel, passed away July 3, 2011. He flew B-17’s in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII, was a 1st Sgt. 934 Cam Squad, member of Minnehaha Lodge #165 AF&AM, Past Commander Zurah Temple Legion of Honor, Past Commander Voiture #4 , Lifetime member VFW Post #5555, Past Commander of American legion Courthouse Post #310, retired letter carrier & member of branch #9 NALC. Preceded in death by first wife, Alice. Kenneth is survived by wife, Char; children: Kenneth Dunkel, Jr., Margaret (Gary) Wright and Paul (Sarah Michels) Dunkel; grandchildren: Kirsten Wright, Dana Wright and Anders Dunkel; step-children: Judy (Gerry) Nikkel, Colleen (Jim) Perry, Patty (Rick) Klick and Robert Carney. Visitation, 5-7 PM, Thursday, July 7, 2011, Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 3640 23rd Ave. So. with Funeral Service to follow at 7 PM. Interment Friday 10:30 AM, Fort Snelling National Cemetery, assembly area #6. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for crippled children.
