Kenneth B. Kjos

Kenneth B. Kjos age 88 of Hastings passed away at home after a courageous battle with Mesothelioma on December 9, 2008. He was born April 2, 1920 to Theodore and Martha Kjos in Astoria, South Dakota. Kenneth was in the US Air Force from 1942 €“ 1945. He married Jean Highet in Edmonton, Alberta on March 1, 1947. He worked at Koch Refinery from 1955 - 1988. Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Gordon and Ole Kjos. He is survived by his wife, Jean of Hastings; sons, Bruce (Lori) Kjos of Key West, FL; Thomas (Gigi) Kjos of Manhattan, KS; Robert (Tammy) Kjos of Knob Noster, MO; daughters, Karen (Bob) Werner of Vermillion; Kristine Kiefer of Hastings; and Betty (Charles) Snyder of Leawood, KS; 15 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Marian Kjos of Rochester; other relatives and friends. Funeral Service, Saturday (12/13) 2:00 pm at Our Saviour's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 400 W. 9th St., Hastings. Visitation Friday (12/12) from 5:00 €“ 8:00 pm at Wise Family Funeral Home, 400 Spring St., Hastings and 1 hour prior to service at church. Interment Lakeside Cemetery.
