Kelly Rae Feyler “Baby K,” age 60, of Hastings, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at her home on March 10, 2026, surrounded by her loving husband of 29 years, Michael, and her sisters, Inez and Liz.
Kelly was born on April 19, 1965, in Maple Valley, Washington, to Joanne Arlene Dubigk and Henry “Bud” Richard Dubigk. She was proud to be a fourth-generation Dubigk in Maple Valley and graduated from Tahoma High School in 1983. In 1991, she met the love of her life, Michael, and the two were married in 1996.
Kelly began her career working on a Grazzini/Corradini project as a forklift operator before being hired in 1997 as a terrazzo finisher. She worked side by side with her husband for 23 years, building not only a career but a lasting legacy in the trade.
A true trailblazer in the terrazzo industry, Kelly proudly retired in 2020 from Grazzini Brothers and Local 1 MN/ND/SD. She holds the distinction of being the only female terrazzo finisher in the country to retire and draw a pension. A passionate advocate for women in construction, Kelly earned the respect and admiration of coworkers and contractors alike. As terrazzo matriarch Bill Gallagher once said, “Send me Kelly. She can outwork the best of them.”
Outside of her career, Kelly found great joy in giving back to her community, volunteering with Hastings Family Service and other organizations. She loved cooking, especially using fresh produce from her garden, and had a deep appreciation for the outdoors. Whether walking with friends, practicing Pilates and yoga at the YMCA, or enjoying a sound bath, Kelly embraced life with curiosity and enthusiasm. She was always ready for the next adventure — especially if it included discovering her next “favorite” rock.
Kelly had a special love for all animals, great and small, though cats always held a special place in her heart. From her childhood cat, “Kitty Mama,” who would only give birth to her kittens if Kelly was by her side, to her beloved cat Sug, who lived to be 19 years old, and all those in between, her compassion for animals was constant throughout her life.
She also took pride in her gardening and, in 2018, earned a blue ribbon at the Minnesota State Fair for growing the largest zucchini.
Kelly was preceded in death by her parents, Joanne Arlene Dubigk and Henry “Bud” Richard Dubigk; and her brothers, Wiley, Deidrick, and Nelson.
She is survived by her husband, Michael; her sisters, Dixie, Inez (Paul), and Elizabeth (Michael); her nieces, Kelsey, Nicole, Heather, and Kimberlie; her nephew, Joseph; her great-niece, Georgia; her great-nephew, Alton; her mother-in-law, Renate; her father-in-law, Hermann; and her sister-in-law, Simone.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at The Studio, 205 2nd Street East, Hastings, Minnesota.
Kelly will be laid to rest in Hobart, Washington.
