Kathleen "Kathy" Tibbits

Kathleen "Kathy" Tibbits, age 84 of Hastings, died peacefully following an extended illness on Friday evening, May 7, 2021, at Marantha Care Center in Brooklyn Center. Kathleen Ann, the daughter of Cliff and Elsie (Nissen) Petrick, was born on June 18, 1936, in Ortonville, Minnesota. At a young age, Kathy's family moved to Montana where she graduated from Glascow High School. She then moved back to Minnesota and began her career with Burlington Northern Railroad and continued to work there until her retirement. On April 29, 1967, she was united in marriage to Richard "Dick" Tibbits and he later preceded her in death on January 15, 2006. She enjoyed bowling, knitting and crocheting anything from baby socks to bedspreads, going Up North, and playing bingo at Treasure Island. Most of all, she cherished the time spent with her family and dear friends. Kathy and Dick where also longtime members of the Eagle's Club in Hastings. She was preceded in death by her parents; step mother, Thelma (Toddy) Petrick; husband, Dick; son, Michael Minter; and by her siblings, Connie Lundbohm, Dennis Petrick, and Michael Petrick. Kathy is survived by her children, Airiq Tibbits and Amy Ruth (Charles) Keohen; grandchildren, Zachary, Arriel, Emily, and Patrick; great grandchildren, Christian, Rylan, Riley, Rayden, Jackson, Aurora, Rayne, and Skyler; siblings, Tom (Nancy) Petrick, Patricia (Gus) Lake, Mickie DeSutter, and Daniel (Ronda) Petrick; special cousin, Bob Peltier; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. A graveside service will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date. Please continue to watch the funeral home's website for updated dates and times.
