Karen Westberg

Karen Westberg, age 81, formerly of Burnsville, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 23, 2026, at Rosemount Senior Living.

She was born on July 18, 1944, in Charles City, IA and grew up in Richfield, MN. She met the love of her life, Jim, in high school and they married in 1965. She had many interesting jobs, but the majority of her career was spent as a police dispatcher and records manager at Lakeville and Apple Valley police departments.

Karen was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Jim; parents, Robert and Madeleine "Sue" Waudby; and sister, Mary. She is survived by her children, Kris (Jonathan) and Marc (Shalome); grandchildren, Zaysha and Dane; sister, Sheryl (Mike); brother, Bob (Gale); many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life at 11am on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Starkson Family - Anderson Chapel, 14850 Garrett Ave., Apple Valley, with visitation one hour prior. Inurnment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Karen’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
