Karen A. Werner, age 62, of Vermillion died December 9, 2011 while wintering in Mission, TX. Born July 15, 1949 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada to Kenneth and Jean (Highet) Kjos, Karen was raised and graduated from Hastings, class of 1967. She married Robert Werner in Vermillion on December 1, 1968. Preceded by her parents, Karen is survived by her husband Robert; 2 sons, Theodore (Renee) Werner ofCottage Groveand Matthew (Gwen) Werner of Faribault; also 5 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Bruce (Lori) Kjos of Key West, FL and Thomas (Gigi) Kjos of Manhattan, KS; Robert (Tammy) Kjos of Knob Noster, MO; 2 sisters, Kristine (Bruce) McNaughton of Hastings and Betty Jean (Charles) Snyder of Kansas City, KS; also many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service was held in Mission, TX on December 12, 2011. A visitation will be held for Karen at the St. John the BaptistSchool in Vermillion, MN from 4-7:30 PM Wednesday, December 21, 2011.
