BORDEN
Kalila; February 14, 1985 – October 18, 2009. Kalila was born in Hanyang, South Korea. We adopted Kalila at the age of 6 months on September II, 1985. As a military family, we traveled to many places and settled in Colorado Springs – a place Kalila knew as home. She attended Colorado Christian University in Lakewood, CO, where she pursued her passions for writing and music. Kalila shared her heart and soul with those she met and became fast friends with many. Kalila loved adventure; she dreamed of exploring other cultures and expressing her enthusiasm for life and truth through creative writing. After finishing her undergraduate education, she planned to travel the world and become an author. Kalila battled leukemia for almost a year – in spite of her struggle, she never lost her sense of humor or her love for words. Although her body betrayed her, her spirit never did and is now rejoicing with the Lord. Kalila is survived by her parents. Brian and Jaci (Jacquelyn) Borden. She will also be missed by her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends scattered around the world. A memorial service will be held at 10 AM Sat., Oct. 31, Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 14850 Garrett Ave., Apple Valley, visit 1 hr prior. Inurnment to follow at Pleasant View Mem. Garden.
