Justin Hankes

James �Justin� Hankes, age 70 of Hastings died Friday, April 17, 2015 at Augustana Care Center after a lengthy bout with cancer. Justin was born May 9, 1944 in Hastings to Carl and Freda (Herkenratt) Hankes. He was an avid watcher and follower of sports. Justin also loved having coffee with the guys at the Legion. He enjoyed watching old movies and reading magazines about old movies. Justin loved spending time at his sisters� with his nieces and nephews which gave him great joy. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Dale and sisters Carla Reichenberg, Joanne Kerstetter and Marlene Hankes-Olesen. Justin is survived by his wife, Virginia �Ginny� Ruedy-Hankes; brothers Keith (Barb) and Mike Hankes both of Hastings; sisters Janice Hankes-Langenfeld, Pat Hankes-Bauer, Lois (Tom) Hankes-Soleim, Linda (Bill) Hamman and Elizabeth Hankes all of Hastings; special niece and nephew Libby and Andrew Hamman, and a special love in his life great niece Carly Hamman; also many other nieces and nephews. The family of Justin would like everyone to remember the Vietnam veterans that are dying daily of Agent Orange. Services are pending for a later date.
