Judith "Judy" Cardell

Judith A. "Judy" Cardell, age 79 of Rochester and formerly of Red Wing, died peacefully following a recent illness on Wednesday morning, August 12, 2020, at Meadow Lakes Senior Living Community in Rochester. Judith Ann the daughter of Albert and Phyllis (Herman) Cardell, was born on August 10, 1944, in Red Wing. Judy's father Albert passed at a very young age, and her mother remarried to her stepfather, Tony Kenitz, whom she loved dearly. Following her graduation from Central High School in Red Wing with the class of 1959, Judy attended cosmetology school at Olive Thein Beauty School. Judy was a a longtime beautician in Rochester and enjoyed the many friendships she made with her customers over the years. She also enjoyed making pottery, and watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings games, and cherished her cat, Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents; and by her step father, Tony Kenitz Judy is survived by many cousins and other relatives. A graveside service for family will be held at Burnside Cemetery in Red Wing. A special thank you to the staff at Meadow Lakes Senior Living in Rochester for their care and kindness shown to Judy. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Paws and Claws in Rochester, Minnesota, or to an animal shelter of your choice. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
