Judith Ann Glazier

Judith Ann Glazier of Welch, MN, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026, at the age of 87.

She was born on November 19, 1938, to Joseph and Viola Bauch in St. Paul, MN. She attended school in So. St. Paul with her three sisters Beverly, Jo Ann and Kathy. After graduating from South St. Paul high school, she attended Winona State University where she obtained her teaching degree. While in college, she met the love of her life, David Glazier. She and Dave were married in June of 1961.

Judy then began her dream job as an educator for young children when she worked as a kindergarten teacher until 1965, when she gave birth to her first son Craig. Judy loved being a stay-at-home mother for Craig and two more sons, Ross, born in 1967, and Darin in 1969. Judy and Dave raised their sons in a beautiful home and acreage located south of Hastings, MN and they also enjoyed her cabin on Sturgeon Lake just north of Red Wing, MN.

Once her children were all of school age, Judy returned to her passion of being a kindergarten teacher. She taught at Kennedy Elementary and Christa McAuliffe Elementary Schools in Hastings, MN until her retirement at the age of 58. Judy and Dave then spent a few years traveling the country in their 5th-Wheel Camper, they also built a small cabin south of Custer, SD in the Black Hills, and enjoyed many hours at their cabin on Sturgeon Lake. At this time, they decided to sell the home they raised their children in and turn their nearby cabin into their dream home. This new home turned into the destination grandchildren dream of with all the boat rides, water sports, riding on grandma’s golf cart and enjoying the numerous treats Judy loved to bake. They hosted their children, grandchildren and other family and friends for many joyous gatherings until Dave sadly passed away from cancer in March of 2010.

Judy was determined to keep her dream alive of her home being a gathering place, and she did so valiantly until her health began to fade, and she had to move to the Tinta Wita Tipi Senior Living facility located in Welch, MN in 2022. She moved to her final home, which was Deer Crest Senior Living facility in 2025, where she lived until the time of her death. The family thanks the caregivers at these facilities and hospice for the compassion and care they provided to Judy.

She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Jo Ann, her sons Craig (Julie), Ross (Bridget), Darin (Jodi) her 15 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband David, her parents Joseph and Viola, two sisters Beverly and Kathy and her daughter-in-law Cindy Glazier.

The family is planning a celebration of life and will share details as soon as they are available. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hastings, MN or the So. St Paul Educational Foundation in Judy’s memory.
