Judith D. Olsen

Judith D. Olsen, age 78 of Hastings, passed away suddenly but peacefully at Oak Ridge Assisted Living in Hastings on Saturday afternoon, July 4, 2020. Judith Diane, the daughter of Paul and Johanna (Jensen) Olsen, was born on October 2, 1941, near Clifton, New Jersey. Following her graduation from Clifton High School, she continued her education at Kings College where she earned her Bachelor's Degree. Later, she earned her Juris Doctorate Degree. Judith was an IBM longtime employee, first in the chemistry labs, later in legal for real estate and immigration department, and retired from the patent office after 34 years of service. Judith enjoyed reading just about anything and everything, and was also a talented crossword enthusiast. She was preceded in death by her parents; and by her second husband, Jack Singer. Judith is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Garrick Olsen and Kelly Bremer; grandchildren, Grace and Dane Olsen; nieces and nephew and their families, Carol Butkofsky, Cheryl Sanders, and Jeff Gustafson; and by other relatives and friends. In keeping with Judith's wishes, a private family graveside service will be held at Lakeside Cemetery in Hastings. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
