Joyce V. Hoffman

Joyce V. Hoffman, age 90, of Hastings, passed away October 2, 2021 at Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury. She was born on April 20, 1931 in Hastings to John and Edna (Erickson) Melby. Joyce graduated from Hastings High School in 1949. She was member of the Regina Hospital Auxiliary for 25 years and a proud member of the SDNO’s. Joyce was an Election Judge and enjoyed her time delivering Meals on Wheels. She was proud to be one of the founding members of the Hastings Concert Association. Joyce enjoyed people, golf, sewing, playing cards and playing the piano. "Mrs. Hoffman” retired after many years in the Hastings School District as elementary secretary at Kennedy and McAuliffe Schools. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerome "Art"; and siblings, Lee Melby, Russ Melby, Linnea Lundin, Lois McNamara, Janet Johnson, Beth Hecimovich, JoAnn McNamara, and daughter-in-law, Lucy Hoffman Joyce is survived by her children, John Hoffman, Jeri Hoffman, Jaci (Mark) Boxrud, Joleen (Jeff) Elliott, Julie Hoffman, Janet (Jon) Pederson and Jim (Molly) Hoffman; 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; and many other special nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wed. (10/6) at Our Saviour's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 400 W. 9th St. in Hastings. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Hastings Concert Association.
