Joyce M. Wolverton

Joyce M. Wolverton, age 75 of Rosemount, died peacefully at home on Sunday evening, June 21, 2020. Joyce Margarete, the daughter of Allan and Beatrice (Paulson) Johnson, was born on August 10, 1944, in Minneapolis. Following her education, Joyce began her thirty-year career with the Lakeville School District #194. She first worked as a playground supervisor, and eventually worked her way up to being the Principal's Secretary at Crystal Lake Elementary when she retired. On October 5, 1985, she was united in marriage to Steve Wolverton in Richfield. Joyce loved her family, especially being "Oma" to her grandsons and great grandchildren, and the time they spent together. She and Steve enjoyed traveling and driving in their motorhome. She enjoyed the monthly luncheons with her friends and former co-workers, as well as taking time to read a good book or put together a puzzle. Joyce loved collecting precious moments angels and watching the birds as well. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Phyllis Baker; and by her niece, Paula Baker. Joyce is survived by her loving husband, Steve; children, Tracy Cliff (fiancé, Steve Novotny), and Brian (Helga) Matschke; grandsons, Jeremy Doerfler (fiancee, Natalie), Jesse (Shanna) Doerfler, Christopher Doerfler, and Michael (Heather) Doerfler; eight great grandchildren, Carson, Matthew, Wyatt, Hannah, Kaitlyn, Levi, Macie, and Gabby; sister, Mary Kay Green, and by many other family members and dear friends. Due to the restrictions of Covid-19, A Celebration of Joyce's Life will be held at a later date. Interment will follow at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. We encourage you to continually check the funeral home's website for further updated information. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the donor's choice in memory of Joyce.
