Joyce Evonne Becker

May 10, 1938 — May 5, 2019

Joyce Evonne Becker (Aslakson) - Formerly known as Joyce Stewart Joyce was born in Minneola, Minnesota on May 10th, 1938, the daughter of John Aslakson and Elnora Anetta Anderson. Joyce was most proud of being a mother and grandmother. She was the happiest when she was spending time with her family and grandchildren. Outside of her family she volunteered at the Hastings Family Service for over 15 years before they brought her on as an official employee. Within Hastings Family Service, Joyce truly worked with all aspects of the company. Her main role was to coordinate clients within the community whether it was getting their transportation organized, helping with groceries and meals, or applying for assistance programs. After 25 years as a dedicated volunteer and employee, she babysat for many families in Hastings. Joyce then went on to work at Pizza Man. She loved interacting with people so they put her in charge of answering the phones and taking orders. In her spare time, Joyce loved putting puzzles together, watching the gameshow network, playing bingo, listening to music, going to K.C. Hall or the VFW, walking around Walmart with her family, and going out to eat. Joyce enjoyed spending time outdoors, camping and going on road trips. Joyce was as jokester who really loved making people around her laugh. Her smile could brighten any room and she cared so much about all those around her. She would have done anything for anyone, She was known as “Grandma” to so many people because she treated everyone as if they were her family. Joyce will be greatly missed by all who knew her and will be remembered as being an Angel in so many lives. Everyone loved her kind and generous heart, she was the Matriarch of this family. She will forever be our little bit of heaven on earth. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Joyce passed away at Regina Assisted Living on Sunday, May 5th, 2019.
