Joseph R. Sherry, age 56, of Hastings, passed away at United Hospital in St. Paul on July 6, 2014. Joe was born January 24, 1958 in Hastings to Thomas and Bernice (Karnick) Sherry. He married Kathy Voss on August 24, 1979 in Hastings. Joe was a very generous person who would never turn down a friend in need. He retired from Ford after 30 years of service. Joe adored his family, especially spending time with his beautiful grandchildren. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, who loved every minute of his time at the cabin. He enjoyed cooking, and never turned down a chance to run his dog, Jack. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Bernice Sherry; brother, Pudge Likes; and brother in law, Dave Berg. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Kathy; sons, Nick (Emily) Sherry; and Mike (Kerry) Sherry; grandchildren, Morgan; Haley Jo; Matthew; and Madelyn; sister, Vicki (Bruce) Johnson; Peter (Diane) Likes; Tom (Sue) Sherry; Pat Berg; Mary (Tom) Knoll; Lisa Sherry (Dwayne Ebben); many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Memorial Service, officiated by Pastor Percy Damrow, will be held on Wednesday (7/9) at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 202 8th St W, Hastings.
