Joseph "Joe" Niebur

Joseph V. Niebur, age 70 of Hastings, passed away peacefully at home on October 16, 2021 surrounded by his family. Joseph Vernon, the son of Vernon and Agatha (Nicolai) Niebur, was born on February 17, 1951, in Northfield, Minnesota. Joe loved his family. He enjoyed fishing with his grandkids, spending time at the cabin with his family, and watching his grandkids activities. He volunteered with Just Friends and was passionate about supporting Hastings Family Service, Breast Cancer research and children’s cancer research. He loved gardening, spending time with his wife, listening to old records, and sharing a beer and memories with friends. His life was guided by his Catholic faith and he was so proud to pass this to his children. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon, and Agatha (Nicolai) Niebur; siblings, Tom and Vern Jr.; parents-in-law, Ray and Bernice Molitor; brothers-in-law, Gene Molitor and Bob Endres He is survived by his loving wife, Theresa; children, Kenna (Mike) Schulz, Kelly (Tom) Brasher, Lindsey (Andy) French, Emily (Joe) Overhaug; grandchildren, Caitlin, Madison and Joey Schulz, Dylan and Rayah Brasher, Harper and Xavier French, Arland, Amos and Edwin Overhaug; siblings, Connie (Dave) Housker, Ted (Connie) Niebur, Jim (Barb) Niebur, Mark (Cheri) Niebur, Kate (Greg) Ries, and Kathy Niebur; brothers and sisters-in-law, Diane Endres, Rae and Dick Otterstrom, Rita Molitor and Charlie and Patrice Molitor. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 20th from 4:00-7:00 pm at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel, 3075 Vermillion St. in Hastings and one hour prior to the service at church on Thursday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 21st at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 15th St. W. in Hastings. Interment will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Miesville. A livestream of the service will be available on Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel's Facebook page. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
