Joseph E. Decker

Joseph E. Decker, age 87, of Minneapolis, formerly of Hastings died Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Minneapolis.Joseph was born February 22, 1923 to John and Kate (Pullman) Decker in Hitchcock, Spink County, South Dakota. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and worked as a laborer.He was preceded in death by his parents and several siblings. Joseph is survived by his son, Rick Decker of Brooklyn Center; brothers Harry Decker of Henderson, NV and Albert Decker of Huron, SD, and Reuben Decker of Seattle, WA; sisters Ann Wipf of Yankton, SD, Gladys Wedel of Huron, SD and Alberta Walter of Buffalo, MN.The Funeral Service, officiated by Chaplain Jim Leith will be held11am Monday, August 23, 2010 at the Minnesota Veterans Home, 5101 Minnehaha Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55417; with a visitatioin held 1 hour prior to the service. Interment with full military honors will follow at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
