John W. Wenker

John W. Wenker, age 65 of Minneapolis, died suddenly but peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 25, 2020. John William, the son of Max and June (Kramer) Wenker, was born on January 29, 1955 in Melrose, Minnesota. Following his graduation from Melrose High School, John graduated from the University of Minnesota. He began working for Senator Durenberger of Minnesota and Senator Dressler of South Dakota. John later worked for WCCO until becoming a professional painter for the remainder of his career. He enjoyed gardening and traveling, and lived a very simple life. He was preceded in death by his mother, June and by his brother, Stephen. John is survived by his father, Max Wenker; brother, MJ (Paula) Wenker; and by nieces and nephews, Ben, Allison, and Charlie. Details for a memorial service are pending and will be announced at a later time. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
