John S. Burr

John S. Burr, age 81, formerly of Hastings, died April 13, 2008 at his Prescott residence. He was born in Selleck, WA on April 7, 1927 to John and Helga (Larson) Burr. John served in the Army during both WWII and the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Hastings American Legion. He married Lola M. Ernst on December 13, 1970. He was a carpenter/handyman, a real �jack of all trades�, who dearly loved his family and enjoyed fishing. John was preceded by his parents, sisters Veronica �Ronnie� Burr and Lucille �Lucy� Becker. He is survived by his wife Lola; children Carlene (Tony) Kulhanke of St. Leo, MN, Allen Burr of Hastings, Ted Burr of Prescott, Tom (Kris) Stephens of Hastings; 6 grandchildren; siblings Karen Feidt, Lois (Louie) MacEvoy, Larry (Janice) Burr, Ray (Bev) Burr, Ed (Arlis) Burr, and Joe Burr; also many nieces and nephews. The memorial service, officiated by Rev. Lloyd Menke will be held at 10am Saturday, April 19th at Our Saviour�s Ev. Lutheran Church, 400 W. 9th St., Hastings. The honorary pallbearers are Roy "Junior" Malettand Tom Stephens. The interment will be held, with honors at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
