John is survived by his wife Mary; 3 children, Doris (Dan) Carlson, Kenneth (Carol) Braun, Debra (Kenny) Ivey; also 8 grandchildren, Daniel, Alex, & Riley Carlson; Nicole, Katherine, Stephanie, & John Braun; Morgan Ivey; 7 siblings Bernice Klahr, Jeanne Schmitt, Rita (Richard) Gelhar, Collette (Jon) Hall, Thomas Braun, Vince (Delores) Braun, & Leo Braun. The Funeral Service will be held at 10:30am Wednesday at ST. JOHN the BAPTIST CATHOLIC CHURCH, Vermillion. Interment parish cemetery. The visitation will be held from 4-8 PM Tuesday at the CATURIA-SMIDT FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. 7th St., Hastings & 1 hr. prior to service at church. (651) 437-9419.
