McDonald, John J. “Whitey”

Age 83 of Rosemount, passed away on May 23, 2019 surrounded by his family. Preceded in death by grandsons, Andrew John Kaer and Christopher and Jonathan Yzermans; parents, John L. McDonald and Honora (Russ) Carigan; siblings, Mary Crouse, Dorothy Garis and Robert McDonald. Survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Elaine; children, Steve (Pam), Diane Kaer, Christine (Stu) Maki, Dan (Patty), Bridget Powers, Theresa Yzermans, Jeanette (Craig) Reed, Irene (Blake) Jacobson, Martha Rietveld, Kevin (Karlene), Matt (Amy) and Andy (Heidi); 25 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a dedicated member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Community. John enjoyed helping all of his kids with building projects. His hobbies included solar energy, cooking for his family, gardening and working jigsaw puzzles. Mass of Christian Burial at 11am on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at the Church of St. Joseph, 13900 Biscayne Ave. W., Rosemount, with visitation one hour prior. Interment Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, Minneapolis.
