John Francis Murphy

John F. Murphy, age 85 of Hastings, died suddenly at home on March 3, 2021. Preceded by parents Mathias and Clara (Schommer) Murphy; siblings, Eugene, Charles, Margaret Thiel. Survived by Mary Kay; son, Patrick; grandson Mark, nieces and nephews. John graduated from Hastings High School in 1952 and worked at H.D. Hudson Mfg. Co for 45 years. He enjoyed fishing, going for long walks, and football games. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 20 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. 15th St., Hastings. For those unable to attend, a live stream of the service will be provided on the church's Facebook page. Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel is serving the family.
