Joe Janssen, age 58 of Hastings, died suddenly but peacefully at home on Wednesday morning, November 20, 2019. Alfred Joe Jr., the son of Alfred J. Sr. and Donna (Rowan) Janssen, was born on January 30, 1961, in Hastings. Following his graduation from Hastings High School with the class of 1979, Joe continued his education at Worthington Community College. On November 5, 1983, Joe was united in marriage to Kim Biskupski at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Hastings. Joe was a tool and die machinist with various companies for over thirty years. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. Joe also enjoyed coaching with the Little Raiders program for many years, participating in Fantasy Football, and racing. Most of all, Joe loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Sr.; and by many aunts and uncles. Joe is survived by his wife, Kim; children, Cory (Carolyn) Janssen, Craig Janssen, and Kayla Janssen (fiance, Dan Johnson); granddaughters, Anna, Addison, Brooklynn, and Kailen; mother, Donna Janssen; siblings, Cindi (Ron) Cartwright, Kim Nyberg, Julie (Dow) Zimmerman, and Dave (Nikki) Janssen; father and mother-in-law, Bill and Nancy Biskupski; brothers-in-law, Tom (Kathy) Biskupski, Mike (Cara) Biskupski, and Tony (Allison) Biskupski; and by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A Celebration of Joe's Life will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, November 23, 2019, at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings. A graveside service will follow at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish Cemetery in Hastings. In lieu of flowers, Joe's family requests memorials be given to the Little Raider's Football Program, Fishing with Vets, or to the donor's choice in his memory. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
