Joan M. Jacobson

Joan M. Jacobson, age 71, of Minneapolis, formerly of Hastings died Monday, July 12, 2010 at the Ebenezer Care Center. Joan was born May 5, 1939 in Hastings to Joseph L. and Catherine (Majeski) Herkenratt. She attended Hastings schools and was the cook at Dakota County Government Center in Hastings for many years. Joan loved baking, gardening, and shopping and was a former member of both the Regina Hospital Auxiliary and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. Joan was preceded in death by her parents and first husband Edward Holmgren. She is survived by her children Guy, Kimberly, Scott, Steven, and Todd; several grandchildren; sister Jean (Zachary) Taran; brothers James (Sandra) Herkenratt and Kevin (Bev) Herkenratt. A Memorial Service, officiated by Fr. Leonard Siebenaler will be held 1pm Friday, July 16, 2010 at the Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 East Seventh Street, Hastings with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
