Jimmy L. Blount Sr.

Jimmy L. Blount Sr., age 75, of Hastings died on November 12, 2010 from complications of lung cancer and following a nine year struggle after a stroke. Jimmy was born October 8, 1935 in Bonham, TX to Hatten David and Lillian Lorelle (Cox) Blount. He married Phyllis Richardson on April 9, 1958 in Dallas, TX and was formerly employed at Braniff Airlines and retired from Dakota County Parks, where he worked at Lake Byllesby. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; and survived by his wife Phyllis; daughter Lorrie (Lynn) Tillman of Springtown, TX; son Jim Blount Jr. of Hastings; 4 grandchildren Hatten Tillman, Dana Finley, Jim Blount III, David Blount; 3 great-grandchildren Tred Tillman, Ethan Finley, and Noah Finley; brother Tom Walker of Keller, TX; sister Jean Ann Walker of Grapevine, TX; also many other relatives and friends. The Memorial Service, officiated by Stephen Schoenwald is 11am November 16, 2010 at River of Life Church in Hastings. The interment will take place at a later date in Texas.
