James 'Jim' Gergen, age 56, of Hastings, passed away at his home after a 2 year battle with cancer on October 9, 2009. He is preceded in death by his father, Raymond Gergen Sr.; sister, Genevieve; and father-in-law, Albert Mamer. He is survived by his wife, Diane of Hastings; daughters, Amy (Doug) Fick of Cannon Falls; Jill (Brent) Roy of Farmington; Katie (Dan) Pohl of Hastings; Jenny (Ben) Nelson of Truman; grandchildren, Koleton Fick; Kaylee Pohl; and Zoe Nelson; mother, Helen Gergen of Hastings; sisters, Mary Ellen (Fred) Angell; Lorraine (Bill) Suchy; Joann(Jerry) Bauer; Lois (Bob) Kieffer; and Betty (Pete) Carpenter; brothers, Ray ( Elaine) Gergen Jr.; and Leon (Nancy) Gergen; many nieces, nephews and godchildren.Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Father Stan Mader, was held Wednesday, October 14, at 10:30am at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Trier. Interment was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Tom Angell; Lynn Gergen; Alexis Mamer; Jeff Suchy; Jason Gergen; and Brian Bauer. Honorary Pallbearers were Larry Beissel; Marvin Foss; Charlie Raway; Joe Raway; Joe Bauer; Alfred Bauer; Rick Hallanger; Rich Sieben; Duane Kimmes; Dave Nelson; Bruce Schmiesing; Paul McDowell; Deb Voss; and Jim Gerhartz.
