Jerry Jerome Rooney

Jerome 'Jerry' Rooney, age 88, of Hastings passed away at his home on April 12, 2010. He was born on September 6, 1921 to Edward & Cecilia Rooney in Owatonna, MN. Jerry married Miriam (Carlblom) on June 12, 1971 in Hastings. He is a World War II veteran and the past commander of the American Legion (1962). He is preceded in death by his son, Gene 'Moose'; sisters, Eleanor Barden; Dorothy Weller. He is survived by wife, Miriam; children, Jim (Jean) Rooney; Claudia Hamman(John Lenz); Deborah (Bradd) McNaughton; James (Ann) Slattum; Pamela (Dave) Bohlken; Becky Chambers; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren. Funeral Service, officiated by Pastor Lloyd Menke, will be held, Friday, April 16, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Saviour's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 400 9th St. W., Hastings. Visitation 1 hour prior to the service at church. Interment, Fort Snelling National Cemetery with military honors. Honorary Pallbearers are Scott Hamman; Michael Hamman; James Slattum, Jr.; Brian Slattum; Jason Slattum; Nick Kavitz; Eddy Forbes; Jason Mitchell; Dale Spohn.
