Jerome A. "Jerry" Koss

Jerome A. "Jerry" Koss, Jr., age 50 of Hastings, died unexpectedly Tuesday, May 6, 2014. Jerry was born May 14, 1963 in St. Paul, MN to Jerome and Marlene (Short) Koss. He married Donna Dzieweczynski on August 26, 1980 in South Dakota. Jerry was the owner and operator of Dakota Garage Door Co., Inc. Jerry was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt deer and turkeys. He was also a bowhunter and fisherman. Jerry dearly loved his family and always felt the most relaxed and at home at the cabin he and Donna built together near Webster, WI. He will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his father. Jerry is survived by his wife Donna; children Carrie Koss of Eagan, MN, Samantha Koss of Hastings, MN, Justin Monson of Cottage Grove, MN; mother Marlene Rekedal of Osakis, MN; siblings Vicky Hayes, Cher Hunter-Koss, Mark Koss, Kari Bigot; mother-in-law Florence "Ma" Dzieweczynski; and other relatives and many friends. A Visitation will be held 3-7pm Tuesday May 13, 2014 at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home 201 East Seventh St., Hastings. Burial will take place in Webster, WI, Thursday May 15, 2014 at 11am at Oak Grove Cemetery. All are welcome to the Koss family cabin following graveside services.
