Jeffery H. "Jeff" Nicholls, age 71 of Hudson, Wisconsin and formerly of Lake Elmo, died peacefully at Abbott Northwestern Hospital on Monday afternoon, December 13, 2021. Jeffery Harold, the son of Harold and Ethel (Malek) Nicholls, was born on April 13, 1950, in Stillwater, Minnesota. Jeff's family later moved to Hastings in 1958 where he graduated from Hastings High School with the class of 1968. Jeff continued his education in chemical engineering and later in carpentry and was a longtime commercial carpenter prior to his retirement. On December 19, 1970, Jeff was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Jane Lomker, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Hastings. They were blessed with three children, fifty years of marriage, and many wonderful memories. Jeff enjoyed hunting, fishing, his hunting dogs over the years, and spending time at the family cabin on North Sand Lake in Webster, Wisconsin. With his detailed talents in carpentry, Jeff and other family members built the home he and Jane lived in for many years prior to recently selling it. Most of all, Jeff cherished the chance to hunt with his sons and buddies at the Rose Garden, as well as spending quality time with family. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Lona Lomker; brother-in-law, Bob Seiver; and by his niece, Lisa Raud. Jeff is survived by his wife, Jane; sons, Matthew Nicholls (Crystal Lins), Corey (Pam) Nicholls, and Michael Nicholls (fiancé, Molly Stahnke); his dog and cat, Tracker and Yoda; his six grand dogs and four grand cats; siblings, Julie Seiver and Jay (Patty) Nicholls; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Jeff's Life will be held at a later date. Please continue to check his obituary for details when they become available. Jeff's family would like to extend a special thank you to the team at River Falls Hospital and the staff at Abbott Northwestern Hospital for the care they provided Jeff in his final days. In lieu of flowers, Jeff's family requests memorials be given to The National Kidney Foundation in his memory. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
