Janice Kay Peterson

Janice Peterson, died on Sunday, May 25, 2025 at United Hospital in Saint Paul. She was born the daughter of Willard and Lova Dotson on July 25, 1944 in Toledo, OH. Janice moved to Hastings in 1956, graduating from Hastings High School, class of 1962. Following high school, she received additional schooling in Mankato. Jan worked for many newspapers and as an office administrator for the refinery. She married Ed Peterson in 1999 in Anchorage, AK. Jan enjoyed knitting, sewing, gardening, and cooking. She was strong-willed and loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
Jan is preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Joseph Ferraro; sister-in-law, Kris Dotson. She is survived by her husband, Ed; sons, John (Helen) Ferraro and Dan (Mayra) Ferraro; grandchildren, Giada and Bella Ferraro, and Sophia and Dominic Ferraro; siblings, Randy (Pat) Dotson, David (Linda) Dotson, Sue (Dennis) Disario, Greg (Miriam) Dotson, Jerry Dotson; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
