James W. Ditlevson

James Ditlevson, age 77, of Hastings, died surrounded by his family on December 22, 2020. James leaves a tremendous legacy; a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to many. He was born in Blooming Prairie, MN and married his high school sweetheart in 1964. They relocated to the Twin Cities where they raised their family. James worked for Ashland Oil for 17 years and then bought his fathers Farmers Insurance Agency where he retired. James loved spending time with his family, fishing, playing cards, going on eagle hunts and spending time with friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Mabel. James is survived by his loving wife, Shirley; sons, Jeff and Michael (Jennifer); daughter, Kristine Glancy (Aran); grandsons, Dylan, Bennett, Liam and Oliver; granddaughter, Micayla; and sisters, Joan and Karen. A private family service is being held. Interment, Old Cottage Grove Cemetery.
